Policies and Procedures

Holywell Children’s Services has a full range of policies and procedures in place. Our policies are kept under review and updated to keep abreast of changing regulations and to include lessons arising from our practice and experience. Individual policies can be viewed on request: please ask the Manager who might need a few working days to arrange.

Safer recruitment policy

Our Safer recruitment policy and procedures emphasise the importance of selecting the right staff for the job.  Our employees cannot start work until they have full DBS clearance.

Holywell’s Safeguarding policy & procedures comply with current guidance and we take our lead from the Blackburn with Darwen, Blackpool and Lancashire Children’s Safeguarding Assurance Partnership (CSAP). In keeping with this, our manager routinely reviews our location risk assessments.

Child Exploitation policy & Data protection standards

Holywell’s Child Exploitation policy includes a named champion and our Missing from Home emphasises our multi-agency approach to working with parents, police, social services, emergency duty teams and schools.

Holywell’s Data protection standards are based on the NHS Data Security & Protection Toolkit.  The management of our IT system is outsourced to a dedicated professional computer systems firm; we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 – please see our Privacy policy.

Regulation 44 inspections

As a requirement of our registration by Ofsted, we have monthly independent Regulation 44 inspections, the reports of which are sent to Ofsted.
